So I entered this raffle held by an awesome artist, Gary Ham, for this one off, sweet, sweet Halloween Morsel. And guess what, I frickin' WON! In fact I wanted it so bad I think I willed that shit to happen, so yeah, happy Dan!

I actually worked out a deal to get this Chocomint colorway instead. So this is actually the one that I will get, but either way it's a damn sweet toy and one I am super stoked about winning.

Art Collab '09!

So me and my good buddy, Bobby "McCoy" Pettigrew are doing a pretty cool art collabo that he came up with. Initially he sent me a .psd with some pretty abstract art in it, I then took that and on another layer I did my take on it, no rules just gotta try to keep the essence of what you think made it cool and interesting. This is round 4 so far and my recent take on it has seen it fleshed out quite a bit from it's initial abstract start. We plan on going 9 or 10 rounds so the possibilities where this will end up is awesome.

Hello. Yes, It's been a while hasn't it. Well I can tell you I have been very busy, with work, life and everything in between. I am gearing up for a move back to Halifax, in fact my girlfriend leaves next weekend and I will be following shortly behind her. As for my comic, Apricot 7, yes I am still working on it, it will see the light of day sooner than later I hope. It basically comes down to getting a website up exclusively for it, I am working with a buddy on that but he is also very busy with life, work etc. Soon.

As for this little piece, I'd always loved the mock covers that Glines had done a while back and finally did one up myself. All the Gent covers were classics so I decided to put my own spin on one, I wish I had copies of this mag littered around my place.

Yeesh, it's been a month already...yikes. Well I am still trucking along with the comic, I had a bit of down time due to a 2 week crunch at work that wore me out but things are back on track! I really want to show more, but I promised myself I'd save it all for the launch of the actual site, so the best I can do is provide some inked up teasers. Got to pick stuff that doesn't give anything away but is still interesting.

I'm still having hella trouble with Wordpress, now I can't even log into the dashboard since I upgraded to 2.7. I tell ya, I might be better off just creating something from scratch using good old reliable, Blogger. Hopefully I'll have it all figured out soon, believe me, I want to launch this bad boy so don't give up on me yet, I keep churning out pages so at least I'll have a nice backlog when the site is finally up.

Hey dudes, just a little taster of my comic that I'm working on. Yes, it's still coming, I have been working very hard on it. I was finding it hard to settle on on inking style, or rather to ink or not have lines and everything in between but I finally settled on the "looks good but takes hella long" approach. Good thing I have a cintiq at work or else I'd probably go insane but inking half at work, mostly during my lunch and breaks and the rest at home is not as bad as I thought it would be, but I really need a cintiq for home, now more than ever.

In the end tho my decision is to have a dope looking comic with a kick ass story rather than worry about pumping out something every week that I'm not completely happy with, so bear with me as this may take a bit, but I will post pages as soon as I finish them. You can also check out the comics home base at Apricot7.com. Right now it's just the basic template you get with Wordpress/Comicpress and I can't figure out how to not make it stretch my damn images all to hell but expect it too look sweet soon, that is as soon as someone with Wordpress knowledge comes to my rescue...haha...jokes, but seriously I think I need a hand, it's definitely not blogger.

Street Fighter Art Trade

Me and my good buddy, J-Mac recently had ourselves a little trading of art, or an art trade for all the idiots out there. We agreed on a topic, in this case Street Fighter and cranked out the jams. Here is what I did for him, it was hard to track Sakura down, but I eventually found her deep in the forests of Japan, training very hard for her next match. She normally does not give autographs, especially while in such heavy training but my good looks and impeccable charm warmed her over enough to grant me such an honor. She also taught me to hadouken, so yeah...watch yer fekkin' backs!

Hey dudes! Thanks for all the kind words on the last post, I definitely appreciate it.

I was recently invited (and by invited I mean begged...and wept) to start posting on a fucking fantastic blog set up by the equally fantastic, Ramon K. Perez. So I've totally been slacking in my art posting but only cause I have been going hard on this! My webcomic, Apricot 7. Things are progressing nicely, as you can see the art style has changed, which is a given and is in a state where I'm dedicating it to paper with action comic goodness! I am allowing it to evolve over the course of the comic so expect some changes here and there, but right now it's go!

Private Mulberry

So here is another character from the comic, this time it's Private Mulberry, the hard nosed gumshoe with a heart of gold and Apricots man on the inside. I don't want to reveal too much to soon but I thought I'd throw this up as I think this is what I'm going to go for as far as color style.

I couldn't find a decent screentone online and I've wanted to get into them for soo long now so I just made one myself, it was monotonous but it paid off as I now have full control over the process. After seeing ol' Rawlsy using them so well on his stuff I just had to bite, so thanks for the inspirato, my friend!

So I am a little late but here is a little sample of what I've been working on for the last few weeks. I'm going to be doing a weekly web comic for my good buddy, Stieny's new comic site. It's going to be a culmination of everything I hold dear and that has influenced me my entire life , pulp, the 50s, anime, girls...basically everything I grew up with x 1000!!! I call it Apricot 7 and these are the concepts I'm working on for the main characters...this is all just test stuff so feel free to crit it up! Thanks dudes!

Holy Crap! It's been four years since I started this blog! Four years since I set loose upon the internets, my unhealthy obsession with drawing boobies. Four years of sometimes drawing, and sometimes not. Four years of amazing crits and comments from some of the internets finest purveyors of pencil on paper.

I wish I could celebrate with some art, but as it is I just moved to Quebec and have no scanner or tablet or anything...But, I do have drawings, they'll just have to wait until March 1st when we get out of this infernal hotel and into our brand spanking new apartment. So look out internet, I'm coming for youuuuuuu...PEW PEW (thems my guns)!

I had this idea since I first drew this girl and only now got around to doing it up. I think it looks like how I wanted it...see what happens when I don't act, I forget...silly me.
